Blackhat : Splogs + Click-jacking = $$$
Hey guys, sorry for not updating this blog, but me and a friend of mine were working on this new blackhat idea we had. I’m sure most of you know what splogs( spam blogs) are, basically blogs which just scrape content off RSS feeds, these blogs are just made to get traffic and make money off ads. Click-jacking is a fairly new exploit, to put it simply, it redirects a users click . It works by creating an invisible iframe with an ad inside it, then it uses javascript to make the iframe follow your mouse. Now when ever you click, you’ll click the iframe, which is an ad.
Basically what happened was, people would reach our blogs, if they clicked randomly we got money. This got us banned quite quickly, so we decided to setup a php script which generated a random number between 0-10 and if the number was 5 then the script would run. This effecitvely lowered the CTR. We made around 100$ and then got banned from the network (never recieved payment).
There were two options, lower the chances of the script running, or just sign up to more networks and randomly choose which ad to show. So if the random number was 1, then it loaded iframe # 1 and so on. We have a small network of sites, running generating around 1$ per day with all the different networks. We still haven’t recieved payment but we are hoping this will work.
I’m not sure what the future of this will be, I started this out as way to test a new way of making money, but I think it is to risky and is hurting the advertisers to much. I’ll probably put the script in a passworded post and hold a contest and give it out to a few lucky readers. So stick around, this blog isn’t dead, I’ve just been concentrating to much on this little project.

The payoff can be big, but I would rather play it very clean if you want to stick around in this business.

Make sure you have a portfolio of white hat sites before dabbling with black hat techniques. BH is short term and will get you in trouble with the networks (as you have seen). White hat is there for long term.
